On June 5th, the Dalian Study Tour Delegation of Hong Kong Island School Heads Association for the activity “100 School Heads from Hong Kong and Macao Explore the Mainland” visited our university for study and exchange activities. Liu Wenhe, Vice President of the university, met with the delegation.
On behalf of the university, Liu Wenhe extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He briefly introduced the university’s educational philosophy, development characteristics, discipline development as well as its scientific research achievements in the field of marine fisheries. He noted that this exchange activity built a favorable communication platform for the education sectors of the China’s mainland, Hong Kong and Macao. He hoped that both sides would take this opportunity to learn from each other and continuously deepen cooperation in education.
The delegation visited the Maritime Power Square, the Liaoning Provincial Key Laboratory of Northern Aquatic Germplasm Resources and Genetic Breeding, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Northern Mariculture Key Laboratory — the Modern Aquatic Seed Breeding Center. They learned in detail about the university’s research progress in the protection of aquatic germplasm resources and the innovation of improved aquatic varieties. Members of the delegation spoke highly of the university’s distinctive marine-focused educational features and robust scientific research strength. They stated that the field visits allowed them to fully witness the vigorous development momentum and solid research capacity of mainland universities, and they had gained abundant insights from this trip.
Relevant officials from the Dalian Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and the university’s International Exchange and Cooperation Office accompanied the delegation throughout the visit and research.
