At the invitation of our university, Russia’s training sailing ship “Pallada”, one of the world’s largest three-masted sailing ships, docked at Dalian Port on May 7th. On May 8th, President Du Ming led a delegation to visit the “Pallada”, and held a symposium on cooperation and exchange onboard with the delegation headed by Tatiana Alekseevna Zhuk, Rector of Far Eastern State Technical Fisheries University. More than 80 people, including relevant leaders from the Party and Administration Office of the university, the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, the University Youth League Committee, the College of Navigation and Shipbuilding Engineering, the College of Foreign Languages and International Education, as well as teachers and student representatives, participated in the event.

On behalf of the university, Du Ming extended a warm welcome to Tatiana Alekseevna Zhuk and celebrated the arrival of the “Pallada”. He reviewed the 29-year cooperation history between the two universities and summarized the fruitful achievements made by both sides in the fields of education and fishery technology. Meanwhile, President Du introduced the university’s discipline construction and international cooperation achievements, highlighting its core strengths in the whole industrial chain construction of aquatic products, marine big data, navigation technology and other fields.
On behalf of Far Eastern State Technical Fisheries University, Tatiana Alekseevna Zhuk expressed gratitude for the gracious invitation extended by our university, and shared the university’s distinctive school-running experience in navigation internship, bioeconomics and other fields. Zorchenko Nikolai, Captain of the “Pallada”, gave a detailed introduction to President Du and the delegation about the ship’s structure, voyage history, teaching and internship functions, as well as talent training models. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on joint teaching cooperation, collaborative scientific research, student training, navigation internship and other areas, reaching extensive consensus.
During the visit, teachers and students of our university carried out an exchange and practical activity themed “Embark on Centennial Maritime Sails, Broaden Global Ocean Vision” on the “Pallada”, and jointly held a friendly tea party and a sports competition with Russian teachers and students.

This event has laid a solid foundation for further deepening cooperation between the two universities, and built a platform for broadening the international vision of teachers and students from our university and enhancing friendship between Chinese and Russian youth. In the future, the two universities will continuously expand the depth of cooperation and jointly write a new chapter of win-win cooperation.
