On January 23rd, a video conference for the exchange meeting of China-Uzbekistan Cooperative Aquaculture College Construction Project was held in the fifth-floor conference room of the Administration Building. Party Secretary of Dalian Ocean University (DLOU) Yi Qingtao attended the meeting. Abdullaev Azimbek, Deputy Director of China Cooperation Department of the General Office of Prime Minister of Uzbekistan and Liu Mingri, Vice President of the China Industrial Energy Conservation and Clean Production Association (CIECCPA) participated online. The meeting was presided over by Liu Mingri.
Yi Qingtao extended a warm welcome to the Uzbek attendees and association representatives. He stated that the university will actively respond to the Belt and Road Initiative, give full play to its strengths in aquatic disciplines, and make all-out efforts to promote the implementation of the China-Uzbekistan Cooperative Aquaculture College Construction Project. Yi Qingtao elaborated on the project proposal, focusing on key aspects such as the cooperative model, educational system, and talent cultivation. He emphasized that the university will, with the utmost sincerity and pragmatic measures, rally the strength of all parties to strive to build the Aquaculture College into an intelligent aquaculture education and technology promotion center with a significant influence in Central Asia.
The Uzbek representatives spoke highly of the project proposal. Both sides conducted in-depth exchanges on topics including the cooperative model, faculty allocation, and discipline setup, and reached consensus on multiple points.
Relevant leaders from the Graduate and Discipline Construction Office, the Academic Affairs Office, the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, the College of Aquaculture and Life Sciences, the College of Food Science and Engineering, and the College of Foreign Languages and International Education also attended the meeting.
