On December 18th, President Du Ming met with the visiting delegation from South Korea, including Tongmyong Education Foundation Chairman Kang Kyungsu and Tongmyong University President Lee Sangchun. Vice President Liu Wenhe attended the meeting and presided over the International Project Cooperation Promotion Conference. Representatives from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, the Graduate and Discipline Construction Office, the Academic Affairs Office, and relevant college leaders were present.

Du Ming extended a warm welcome to Kang Kyungsu, Lee Sangchun and the delegation, and introduced our university’s historical development, discipline construction, faculty members, and international exchanges. He stated that the two universities have broad cooperation potential in disciplines and talent cultivation, hoping to take this visit as an opportunity to establish a regular cooperation platform, deepen practical cooperation in multiple fields, and achieve mutual benefit and common development.
Kang Kyungsu expressed sincere gratitude for our university’s warm reception and introduced Tongmyong University’s educational scale, disciplinary characteristics, international cooperation and so on. He noted that Dalian Ocean University’s advantages in marine-related disciplines and scientific research left a deep impression. He looked forward to having in-depth collaborations in areas such as student exchange, degree education, academic seminars, and scientific research, jointly cultivating outstanding talents with a global vision and international competitiveness.
Liu Wenhe stated that the two universities will take this exchange as an opportunity to accelerate the implementation of five cooperation agreements, including international academic conferences, international exchange students, international academic research, international curriculum research and development, as well as international mutual recruitment of teachers, contributing to the high-quality development of higher education.
Both sides agreed that this exchange established an efficient and pragmatic communication platform, enhanced mutual understanding and trust, clarified cooperation priorities and implementation ways, and laid a solid foundation for subsequent comprehensive, multi-level, and broad-scope international cooperation.


Before the meeting, Kang Kyungsu and the delegation visited the Marine Power Square, Liaoning Key Laboratory of Northern Aquatic Germplasm Resources and Genetic Breeding and other places. Through field visit and on-site exchanges, they gained a detailed understanding of our university’s educational characteristics, disciplinary strengths, research achievements, and campus culture.
