Vice-President Elliot Haruna Alhassan of the University of Development Studies of Ghana, Leads Delegation for Research Visit to Our University

On September 21st, a delegation of 28 members from the football men’s team of the University of Development Studies of Ghana, who came to Dalian to participate in the 2025 FISU Football World Cup, led by Vice-President Elliot Haruna Alhassan, visited our university for a research and exchange visit. Vice-President Liu Wenhe received and accompanied the delegation during their research visit.

Liu Wenhe, on behalf of our university, warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced the campus planning, academic characteristics, disciplinary advantages, and the cultural concept of building a maritime power. He noted that this visit established a bidirectional exchange platform between Chinese and Ghanaian universities, aligning with FISU’s philosophy of “excellence, integration of sports and education”. He expressed hope for enhanced international cooperation with the University of Development Studies of Ghana in the future.

Elliot Haruna Alhassan highly praised Dalian Ocean University’s achievements in marine science and technology. He highlighted the university’s unique geographical location, picturesque campus, and distinctive academic strengths, particularly in the aquaculture and marine sectors where the accumulated research expertise and technological innovation stand out as prominent advantages. He hoped to have more collaborations in international academic exchange and cultural-sports activities.

During the visit, the delegation toured key locations including the Marine Power Square at Heishijiao Campus, the Heishijiao Bay Fish Park, the Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Facility Fisheries, the Liaoning Provincial Key Laboratory of Northern Aquatic Germplasm Resources and Genetic Breeding, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs’ Northern Mariculture Key Laboratory-the Modern Aquatic Seed Breeding Center. They gained detailed insights into research progress and technological achievements in aquatic germplasm conservation and improved variety innovation of our university.

Relevant leaders from the university’s International Exchange and Cooperation Office, Department of Physical Education, and the College of Foreign Languages and International Education participated in the research and visit activities.
