OUYANG Ping, Director of Nutrition and Dietetics Program & Graduate Studies at Western Michigan University, Visited Our University

On August 5th, Assistant Professor OUYANG Ping, Director of Nutrition and Dietetics Program & Graduate Studies at Western Michigan University, visited our university for an exchange visit. Zheng Peng, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, Li Zhibo, Associate Dean of the College of Food Science and Engineering, and Qu Min, Head of the Department of Food Quality and Safety, hosted the meeting and had discussions with OUYANG Ping. Both parties conducted in-depth discussions on deepening exchanges and cooperation in fields such as nutrition science, dietetics programs, and graduate training.

OUYANG Ping elaborated on Western Michigan University’s development process and educational characteristics, and highlighted advanced concepts, curriculum designs, practical training systems, and notable achievements in dietitian cultivation and graduate programs.

Zheng Peng welcomed the visit of OUYANG Ping and introduced our university’s internationalization strategy, current achievements in international exchanges, and significant progress in promoting international exchanges between teachers and students in recent years. Our university attaches great importance to mutually beneficial partnerships with global famous universities including those in the US, expecting to explore new cooperation models in fields of mutual interest.

Li Zhibo detailed the College of Food Science and Engineering’s historical evolution, discipline distribution, faculty strengths, research advantages, and talent development approaches.

Through this meeting, both parties deepened understanding of multiple potential cooperation. They anticipate converting intentions into concrete projects through close communication and detailed planning, jointly contributing to cultivating high-caliber nutrition and health talents with international perspectives while advancing academic exchanges and technological progress between China and the US in this field.
