On March 14th, our university held a symposium for foreign faculty in the Second Conference Room of the Administration Building. President Du Ming attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Liu Wenhe.
Du Ming highly affirmed the important role of foreign faculty in the internationalization process of our university's education. He pointed out that foreign faculty should fully leverage their professional expertise and cross-cultural backgrounds to deeply engage in the university's international cooperation and talent cultivation. They should promote the deep integration of international perspectives with the university's local characteristics, combine cutting-edge international achievements with the development of the university's marine disciplines, actively promote the distinctive features and educational achievements of the university's marine disciplines, and assist in building a globally competitive teaching and research system to continuously enhance the university's international influence.
Liu Wenhe stated that the university will further enrich international educational resources, improve the international curriculum system, and establish high-level academic cooperation platforms to create better conditions for the development of international teaching and research.
During the symposium, foreign faculty, drawing on their international teaching experience, put forward relevant suggestions including building a distinctive talent cultivation system, strengthening the integration of international curricula, and deepening cross-cultural research collaboration. Heads and relevant staff from the International Exchange & Cooperation Office and the China-New Zealand Cooperation College attended the meeting.
